Brief

The client needed a system that would meet industry-specific regulations and factor out the risk of cloning.

Solutions Provided

  1. In consultation with the client, installers EES Ltd opted for ACTpro MIFARE contactless smart readers which employ DESFire EV1 cards. The high level of security and protection against card cloning has enabled the site to satisfy rigorous sector-specific demands from Pharmaceutical regulators. Each card has a unique serial number and the technology minimizes the risk of card cloning.
  2. ICON is also able to use the MIFARE cards for additional human resource functions and complementary elements relying on Near Field Communication (NFC) technology such as cashless vending. Scrupulous security at the site, which is located to the south of Dublin, also includes universal anti-passback across multiple door controllers. This protects the company against misuse of a card by intruders in the event of loss.
  3. The client is using the cards with ACTpro DESFire EV1 1050 readers and ACTpro 4000 two-door controllers. The controllers can extend to a total of 16 doors via ACTpro door stations.
