Vanderbilt’s Omnis Security system is very well suited for protecting larger companies, municipalities, and government-run facilities such as waterworks plants, sewage treatment plants, and electricity grids.
The Brief:
The level of security needs to be raised in a company, municipality, or government with the need for a multisite solution where smaller facilities are located across a large geographical area with high security requirements such as waterworks plants, sewage treatment plants, and electricity grids. The raised level of security also needs to be done at the right price, and with as few pieces of active equipment as possible to contribute to both cost efficiency and easier maintenance.
Solutions Provided:
Omnis’s well-designed system and functions make it fit incredibly well according to these requirements, while still offering an integrated, high-quality security system.
Omnis is an ideal security solution for a multisite solution such as waterworks plants, sewage treatment plants, and electricity grids, where smaller outbuildings are located across a large geographical area with high safety requirements. Simply put, Omnis is a product that meets the overall security needs at the right price.
How Omnis works on site:
- With its smart structure, Omnis can handle the total security of a room (both access control and intrusion alarm) with only 1 central unit, 1 PSU, and 1 Keypad/card reader.
- In the central unit, a magnetic contact for door sensing is connected, as well as an IR detector for motion detection within the room, and a siren to signal alarms.
- Alarms are sent to the alarm center via the PC alarm transmitter implemented in Omnis Server, or through an external alarm transmitter that communicates directly with the central unit.
Main Takeaway:
Omnis offers high security at the right price due to the low number of products required per site, and the fact that the entire security system is integrated in the same software as well as hardware!
With Omnis, it is easy to manage big and complex systems, for instance who has and should not have access to facilities. A complete overview is available for the system with the help of "Alarm graphics" that is included in the software. This way, you see all your sites live in a graphic presentation.
