The Test Engineer will be responsible for testing Vanderbilt’s Access and Intrusion products including client-server, firmware and hardware releases. The Test Engineer will also review and verify user documentation. The role also includes the setup of hardware/firmware test environments in support of product testing. Visits to customer sites may be required from time to time.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
-Test Vanderbilt’s Access and Intrusion products including client-server, firmware and hardware releases.
-Setup hardware/firmware test environments in support of product testing.
-Write test reports and document issues.
-Verifying issues reported by Vanderbilt’s customers.
-Collaborate with engineers to identify test criteria and automate tests.
-Work as a member of a cross functional Scrum team.
Required Experience and Competences
-Diploma level in Electronics or equivalent.
-Strong practical knowledge of electronics and PC software.
-Strong practical Knowledge of networking.
-Experience in the Security & Access Control Industry.
-Experience in an R&D Test environment.
-Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools for testing software, firmware and hardware.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Attention to detail and thoroughness in testing complex products.
Desired Experience and Competences
-Knowledge of building access control and intrusion products.
-Prior experience working as an installer of building access control and intrusion products.
-Experience working as a member of a Scrum team.
-Experience working with other cultures would be beneficial.
-Knowledge of Microsoft windows applications such as Word and Excel.
-Competence in IT infrastructure and networking.
